Since its July 2023 inception, @seedcrusherprojects has mounted three exhibitions. The artist-run gallery space featured collected works of over 40 artists in two curated group shows, “Artifacts Exchanged” and “Lonely Rabbit Seeks Soulmate.” Additionally, SCP hosted “Peace Y Muchos Besos” the first solo exhibition of multi-media artist Faviola Calymayor. @faviolacalymayor
Collaborating on events with the artist community at Holsum Studios has led to countless gallery visitors. SCP has welcomed groups from Kansas City Art Institute, Kansas University, Johnson County Community College, UMKC, Charlotte Street Foundation, Imagine That, ArtsAlive, KCUR, KC Studio Magazine and more.
We are a grateful neighbor to @holsumgallery for its ambitious calendar of exhibitions, spontaneous gatherings, poetry readings and boisterous opening receptions. It is the beating heart of Holsum Studios. Holsum Gallery runner Garry Noland brought the artist-run concept to an accessible level for many of us with simple studio space. (see KC Studio Magazine 3/15/23) as did Craig Deppen Auge and @lodger_art.
The movement is still in a growth phase on this very block in the historic West Bottoms of KC. Looking at you @charmed.kcmo and @markcowardinsculpture🌟
To the attendees of @mdw.coalition summit (November 18-23) please include @seedcrusherprojects on your itinerary. During your convening of artist-run spaces, SCP will feature the work of three emerging, self-representing artists. Stay tuned for images and news as the date draws near.
